Finding the right contact

The W4MP hotline list includes lots of useful emails, addresses and numbers for MP correspondence contacts, and can be accessed through the intranet. It is updated regularly.

Caseworker.mp also updates the Government department emails, which is handy for writing to ministers, and has most of our local contacts saved.

MP offices contact details can be easily found online, though you may want to keep a note of any staff you meet, so that you can give them a call if you need to speak to someone urgently. This is particularly useful for neighbouring MPs, as you may have to pass on a fair amount of casework from constituents who came through to the wrong office by mistake

Local community services

Sometimes we will need to refer constituents to an additional local community service for further advice or support that we cannot offer. For most, you can make direct referrals through Joy, after you have set up an account through Stephen’s Joy profile. You can also visit Newham’s Directory of Health and Social Care Services.

General advice

There are a number of local and national organisations that you can seek advice from. Quite often they are receptive to enquiries from MPs offices. Click here to find out more.
