Stephen has welcomed a Westminster Hall debate in response to two e-petitions received over 100,000 signatures on the Houses of Parliament website.

Stephen had requested to speak but was not selected in the ballot. In all, over 55 MPs asked to take part in the one and half hour long debate.

Speaking this morning, Stephen said “I am disappointed that I have not been drawn to speak. I was keen to bring to the government’s attention the views of many of my constituents who have been in touch with me in recent weeks about the situation in Palestine”.

“I can assure those living in East Ham - and particularly those I met at an online lobby last week - that I will take up the points we discussed with Ministers using other avenues.”
