Stephen asks Prime Minister to re-double ceasefire efforts
Stephen has written to the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, about the “unbearable” situation in Gaza. The letter followed a report by the World Bank which concluded that the situation in the region had now reached “catastrophic levels”.
Prior to sending the letter, the Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office told the House of Commons that the UK would continue to work with other nations to deliver aid via a temporary US military pier in Gaza and a maritime corridor from Cyprus.
Stephen tells the Prime Minister, “…the truth is that it will not be possible to address the crisis in Gaza if the fighting does not stop.” He went on to urge the Government to “work tirelessly” to prevent further attacks on Gaza and push for an immediate ceasefire in the region.
