Stephen asks the Prime Minister about the barriers to Palestinian Statehood
During a Statement in the House of Commons, Stephen asked the Prime Minister about the role of illegal Israeli settlements in preventing Palestinian Statehood.
Israeli settlements are civilian communities built on lands that Israel occupied following the Six-Day War in 1967. Under United Nations Security Council Resolution 446, the consensus of the international community is that these settlements are illegal under international law.
Stephen asked the Prime Minister for “his assessment of the impact of continued illegal settlement building on Palestinian territories on the prospects for Palestinian statehood.” The Prime Minister responded that the UK’s position is longstanding and in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 446.
